Nigerian Navy Rescues Victims From Alakija Building Collapse, Provides Emergency Medical Care

The Nigerian Navy has rescued several victims trapped in the aftermath of a building collapse at Alakija area of Lagos State, reinforcing its emergency response capability and support to civil authorities during crises.
According to a statement issued by the Director of Naval Information, Naval Headquarters, Navy Captain AA Folorunsho, the rescue operation was launched immediately after the Service received a distress call reporting the incident.
Naval personnel reportedly mobilised swiftly to the scene and joined other emergency responders in conducting search and rescue operations.
Through what the Navy described as prompt intervention, professionalism and coordinated efforts, several victims were pulled from the debris and evacuated for urgent medical attention.
The statement disclosed that the rescued victims were transported to the Nigerian Navy Reference Hospital, Ojo, Lagos, where they received emergency treatment and continued medical care from the hospital’s medical personnel.
Commending the rescue team, the Chief of the Naval Staff praised the courage, commitment and professionalism demonstrated by the personnel involved in the operation as well as the medical staff of the Nigerian Navy Reference Hospital, Ojo.
The Naval Chief also acknowledged the support and cooperation of other emergency response agencies and members of the public whose combined efforts contributed to the successful rescue mission.
While expressing sympathy to families affected by the unfortunate incident, the Nigerian Navy wished the injured victims a speedy recovery and reaffirmed its readiness to continue providing humanitarian assistance and support to civil authorities whenever required in line with its constitutional responsibilities.
