The National Identity Management Commission has formally transitioned to a paperless operating system with the deployment of WorkflowPro as its official platform for digital submission and management of correspondence.
The Commission, under the supervision of the Federal Ministry of Interior, said the move aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the Federal Government’s directive on digitising public service operations.
In a statement signed by the Head of Corporate Communications, Kayode Adegoke, the Commission explained that WorkflowPro provides a secure, structured and traceable system for managing internal and external communications.
According to NIMC, all external correspondence must now be submitted electronically through the WorkflowPro platform, which enables end-to-end tracking, faster internal routing and secure electronic archiving.
The Commission stated that the initiative is consistent with the Federal Government’s Enterprise Content Management (ECM) policy mandating digitisation of official records and elimination of physical file movements across Ministries, Departments and Agencies.
NIMC approved a 30-day transition period from February 17, 2026, after which manually submitted letters and paper-based correspondence will no longer be accepted.
The platform was developed by NIMC’s in-house technical team under the directive of the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer, Engr. (Dr.) Abisoye Coker-Odusote.
The Commission urged stakeholders to comply fully with the new directive.
