ABUJA – The Nat’l President of the Guild of Online Media Editors and Publishers of Nigeria (GOMEP NG), Comr. Akpovoke Otiti, and the National President of Defence Correspondents Association of Nigeria (DECAN), Comr. Odita Sunday, have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening new media relationships and promoting strategic collaboration among online media practitioners in Nigeria.
Otiti, who is also the Editor and Publisher of AjaziralReport Newspaper, MD/CEO, Royal Palace lodge, Asaba made the commitment during a visit to Odita, Editor and Publisher of RazorNewspaper E-Copy, RazorNewsng.com , Razornewsonlineng.com and Silentheronewsng.com at his office in Abuja over the weekend.

The visit provided an opportunity for both media leaders to deepen their relationship, promote mutual understanding and explore avenues for stronger engagement among stakeholders in the new media industry.
Otiti was warmly received during the visit and presented with souvenirs and other gift items in recognition of the cordial relationship between the media leaders and their commitment to fostering closer ties within the profession.
Odita, who is also associated with the leadership of DECAN and popularly described as the Great Lord Mayor of Journalism, hosted Otiti in an atmosphere of friendship and goodwill.

The engagement underscored the importance of building bridges across media organisations, strengthening professional solidarity and creating opportunities for strategic partnerships that would advance the interests of online media editors and publishers, Both leaders recognised the need for sustained engagement among practitioners to promote unity, encourage cooperation and strengthen the role of new media in Nigeria’s evolving information landscape.

The visit also highlighted the growing importance of interpersonal relationships and institutional collaboration in advancing the professional interests of online media practitioners.
They expressed optimism that continued engagement among media leaders would open new avenues for cooperation, strengthen relationships between their respective organisations and contribute to the growth and development of online journalism in Nigeria.
