Residents of Jos North Local Government Area can now breathe easier as the Plateau State Government has further relaxed the curfew imposed after recent disturbances, citing significant improvement in the security situation.
Under the new directive, effective Wednesday, April 15, 2026, movement will now be restricted only between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m., replacing the earlier tighter curfew measures.
In a statement signed by Joyce Lohya Ramnap, the government said the decision was reached in consultation with security agencies following a review of conditions in Jos North and surrounding areas.
Authorities, however, urged residents to continue observing the adjusted curfew hours strictly and remain law-abiding as efforts continue to restore full normalcy.
The state government commended citizens for their cooperation and peaceful conduct, noting that public support has played a major role in stabilising the area.
It also called on residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious movements or any untoward activities to security agencies.
