In a decisive response to rising tension, the Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, has assured that justice will be swiftly served following the tragic loss of a student in Lagos.

Fatai, on Sunday led a team of senior officers to the accident scene for an on-the-spot assessment, in a move aimed at reinforcing public confidence and addressing rising concerns among students.

During a meeting with representatives of the Students’ Union, the police chief commended the student body for maintaining calm, order, and maturity in the face of grief. He described their conduct as exemplary, noting that restraint during such emotionally charged moments was critical to sustaining peace.
CP Fatai assured the students that the command would not relent in pursuing justice, disclosing that the suspect linked to the incident would be charged to court by Monday for proper prosecution.
“The law will take its course,” he affirmed, reiterating the command’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and the protection of lives across the state.

The visit underscores growing pressure on authorities to ensure swift justice, even as the university community mourns the painful loss of one of its own.

Meanwhile, prayers and condolences continue to pour in for the bereaved family, with many calling for strengthened safety measures to prevent a recurrence of such tragedies.
