The Nigeria Police Force has reaffirmed its commitment to the welfare of its personnel as the Ogun State Command presented cheques to families of fallen officers as part of activities marking the 2026 Police Week.

The Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, acting on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu, on Thursday, led the symbolic presentation.

The event, which marked Day 4 of the week-long celebration, saw a total of ₦30,552,851.16 disbursed to beneficiaries.

According to the Command, the gesture was aimed at honouring officers who paid the ultimate price in the line of duty, while also providing financial relief and reassurance to their bereaved families.

It added that the initiative underscores the Force’s enduring commitment to the welfare of its personnel and the families they leave behind, reinforcing institutional solidarity with both serving and fallen officers.
