LAGOS – The Association of Models Nigeria (AMN) has entered into high-level discussions with Prison Fellowship USA to enhance collaboration on reforming the Nigerian correctional system.
The strategic talks followed a courtesy visit by Dr. David Olatubosun Alabi, Senior Director of Correctional Programs at Prison Fellowship USA, to the President of AMN, Deji Bakare, in Lagos.

In a statement released by Bakare, it was disclosed that the visit occurred shortly after Dr. Alabi concluded an assessment tour of the Abuja Correctional Centre. The tour was a critical component of efforts to evaluate current prison conditions and identify specific areas where reform can have the most significant impact.
According to the AMN President, both organizations focused on developing strategies to strengthen the “Hope Beyond Walls” initiative, a program dedicated to inmate transformation.
Dr. Alabi expressed a firm commitment to the rehabilitation, reintegration, and capacity building of inmates to ensure they can contribute positively to society upon release. Furthermore, the Prison Fellowship USA official revealed plans to implement training programs for correctional warders, aimed at improving institutional safety and professional standards.
Bakare noted that the partnership would engage both international and local stakeholders to address the long-standing infrastructure and systemic challenges facing Nigerian correctional centers.
Speaking on behalf of the AMN, Bakare expressed his appreciation for the collaboration, describing it as a milestone in international cooperation on prison reform.
“We remain deeply committed to advocacy and rehabilitation programs that promote human dignity and genuine reform within our justice system,” Bakare stated.
