The Prayer and Support for Nigerian Armed Forces and other Security Agencies (PSNAFSA) has commended the Nigerian Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies for the successful rescue of the abducted pupils and teachers from Oyo State after 56 days in captivity.
In a statement signed by its Convener, Ambassador Mary Abayomi-Fatile, the group also praised local hunters, vigilante groups and patriotic citizens whose support and intelligence contributed to the rescue operation.
PSNAFSA described the operation as a major victory for inter-agency collaboration and national unity in the fight against insecurity.
The group specifically lauded the professionalism and bravery of the Nigerian Navy Special Boat Service (SBS), the Nigerian Air Force Panthers and the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) Tactical Team, noting that their coordinated efforts demonstrated the effectiveness of Nigeria’s special operations forces in handling complex rescue missions.
According to the statement, the successful operation has brought relief and renewed hope to the rescued victims, their families and Nigerians who closely followed the incident.
PSNAFSA said the outcome reflected the courage, sacrifice and commitment of security personnel who continue to risk their lives to protect the nation’s territorial integrity and ensure the safety of citizens.
The organisation also acknowledged the critical role played by local hunters, community vigilantes and members of the public through credible intelligence and sustained cooperation with security agencies.
It said the operation reaffirmed that lasting success against criminality can only be achieved through strong collaboration between security institutions and the communities they serve.
While celebrating the rescue, the group expressed sadness over the death of one of the teachers during the ordeal and prayed for the repose of the deceased’s soul, while extending condolences to the bereaved family, colleagues and the school community.
PSNAFSA urged Nigerians to continue supporting the Armed Forces, the Police and other security agencies by remaining vigilant, providing timely and credible information, and praying for personnel deployed to various operations across the country.
The group further called on the Federal Government to sustain investments in the security sector through the provision of modern equipment, improved logistics, enhanced intelligence gathering and better welfare packages for security personnel.
It also prayed for divine protection, wisdom and strength for members of the Armed Forces and other security agencies, expressing hope that all Nigerians still being held captive by criminal groups would soon regain their freedom.
PSNAFSA encouraged security agencies to sustain ongoing operations until all hostages are rescued, criminal networks dismantled and communities across the country can live, work and worship in peace.
