.Three-in-One Celebration to Honour Golden Jubilee, Retirement from Lecturing Career and Book Launch
By Alex Monye
Rev. Sis. Prof. Mary Anne Monye is set to be honoured on 29 August 2026 in a special Three-in-One Celebration, bringing together three significant milestones in her life and service: her Golden Jubilee of 50 years of consecrated religious life, her retirement from a distinguished career as a lecturer, and the launch of her new book.
The celebration will provide an opportunity for the Church, her religious congregation, the academic community, family, friends, colleagues, and well-wishers to recognise and celebrate a remarkable journey of faith, scholarship, service, and dedication to humanity.
For five decades, Rev. Sis. Prof. Monye has remained faithful to her religious vocation, devoting her life to the service of God and the advancement of others. Her years in consecrated religious life have been marked by commitment, humility, sacrifice, leadership, and an enduring dedication to the mission of Christ.
Alongside her religious vocation, she has built a distinguished career in academia as a lecturer. Through years of teaching, mentoring, intellectual engagement, and service to students and colleagues, she has contributed meaningfully to the academic community and to the formation of generations of learners.
Her retirement from active lecturing therefore represents the conclusion of an important professional chapter and the culmination of years of intellectual contribution and service. It also marks the beginning of a new phase in which her experience, wisdom, and knowledge can continue to benefit society in different ways.
Another major highlight of the celebration will be the launch of her book, which adds an important intellectual and literary dimension to the occasion. The publication offers an opportunity for her experiences, reflections, knowledge, and insights to reach a wider audience and become part of her enduring legacy.
The three milestones make the occasion particularly significant. The Golden Jubilee celebrates 50 years of consecrated religious life; the retirement recognises a fruitful career in academia; while the book launch represents a new avenue for sharing knowledge and preserving her intellectual contributions for future generations.
Rev. Sis. Prof. Mary Anne Monye’s journey is a testimony to a life in which faith, education, discipline, service, and commitment have worked together to create a lasting impact. Her contributions to religious life, education, and society have touched many lives and continue to inspire those who have encountered her.
The celebration will take place on Saturday, 29 August 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Baruwa, Ipaja, Peace Estate, Lagos State.
As she marks these important milestones, prayers and good wishes are offered for continued good health, wisdom, peace, strength, and abundant grace in the years ahead. May this new chapter bring renewed opportunities for service, writing, mentoring, reflection, and continued contribution to the Church and society.
The occasion is aptly captured in the words of Daniel 12:3:
“Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever.”
The Three-in-One Celebration of Rev. Sis. Prof. Mary Anne Monye is therefore not merely a commemoration of three milestones, but a celebration of a life of faith, scholarship, service, sacrifice, and enduring impact.
Congratulations, Rev. Sis. Prof. Mary Anne Monye!
Happy Golden Jubilee of Consecrated Religious Life!
