Hon. Pascal Lord-Michael Adigwe has applauded Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his administration’s proactive approach to security, describing the Governor’s emphasis on intelligence, collaboration and preventive measures as critical to protecting lives, property and the economic interests of Delta State.
Adigwe made the commendation following Governor Oborevwori’s engagement with participants of the Advanced Intelligence Officers’ Course 16/2026 from the Defence Intelligence College, Karu, Abuja, during their study tour of Delta State.
The study tour, themed “Strengthening National Resilience Through Integrated Intelligence, Multi-Agency Coordination and Regional Security Cooperation,” provided an opportunity to examine Delta State’s security environment and the collaborative measures being adopted to address emerging threats.
According to Adigwe, Governor Oborevwori’s administration has demonstrated a clear understanding that modern security challenges cannot be effectively tackled by government or individual security agencies acting in isolation.
He noted that the administration’s collaboration with the Army, Police, DSS, Navy, NSCDC, traditional institutions and community stakeholders has strengthened intelligence sharing and improved the state’s capacity to respond to security threats.
Adigwe also commended initiatives including Operation Delta Sweep, the regular State Security Council meetings and the strengthening of grassroots intelligence gathering, describing them as practical steps towards building a more secure Delta State.
He said the Governor’s approach goes beyond responding to criminal activities after they occur, stressing that intelligence gathering, early warning and coordinated intervention are essential to preventing threats before they escalate.
“Deltans Must Stand With Oborevwori”
While appreciating Governor Oborevwori for his leadership and commitment to the security and development of the state, Adigwe urged Deltans to continue supporting the administration as it works to consolidate its achievements.
He appealed to citizens across the three senatorial districts to recognize the importance of continuity, stability and responsible leadership as the state moves towards the 2027 general elections.
«“Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has demonstrated through his actions that the security and development of Delta State remain central to his administration. His willingness to work with security agencies, traditional institutions and communities shows a leadership style built on collaboration and results.”»
Adigwe maintained that the progress being recorded in security and other sectors should be protected through sustained cooperation between government and citizens.
He further urged Deltans to provide useful intelligence to the appropriate authorities, support security agencies in the discharge of their duties and reject acts capable of undermining the peace and stability of the state.
According to him, a peaceful Delta is the responsibility of everyone, and the people must continue to support policies and leadership that place the safety, prosperity and future of the state above every other consideration.
He concluded by expressing appreciation to the Defence Intelligence College for choosing Delta State for the important study tour, describing the visit as further recognition of the state’s strategic importance to Nigeria’s economy and national security.
