The people of Southern Kaduna have conferred the title of Grand Commander of Southern Kaduna (GCSK) on the Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (retd.), in recognition of his contributions to national security, peace and unity.
The honour was bestowed on the Defence Minister during a ceremony attended by traditional rulers, political leaders, youth groups, religious leaders and other stakeholders from across Southern Kaduna.

Speaking after receiving the award, General Musa expressed appreciation to the people of the region for the recognition, describing Southern Kaduna as a prosperous and promising part of the country.
He dedicated the honour to patriotic Nigerians committed to peace and national development, noting that Southern Kaduna had produced distinguished personalities making significant contributions in different sectors.

The Defence Minister urged youths in the region to remain law-abiding and avoid activities capable of promoting violence, insecurity and criminality.
According to him, security remains a collective responsibility that requires collaboration among communities, security agencies and other stakeholders.
“Security is a collective responsibility, and all stakeholders must work together to eradicate insecurity,” he said.
Musa commended community leaders for supporting security agencies through intelligence gathering and urged residents to continue providing timely and credible information on criminal activities.
He also encouraged the people to sustain the values associated with Southern Kaduna, including hard work, humility, sacrifice, respect for the law and service to humanity.
The minister stressed that peace, unity and social cohesion were necessary for national growth and development.
He further called on residents to continue supporting the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, citing increased Federal Government presence and developmental interventions in Southern Kaduna in the last three years.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Southern Kaduna Leaders Council, Elder Akau Moses, described General Musa as a worthy ambassador of the region whose military career had brought honour to Southern Kaduna and Nigeria.

According to him, the Defence Minister’s professionalism, courage, patriotism and dedication to duty had earned him national and international recognition.
Moses said the conferment of the GCSK title was in acknowledgment of Musa’s contributions to national security and his role as a source of inspiration to younger generations.
The event drew participants from different communities across the region, who commended the minister’s commitment to peace and national service.
