Troops of the Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI have sustained offensive operations across the North-East, neutralising terrorists, arresting suspected collaborators, and recording fresh surrender under ongoing counter-terrorism efforts.
The operations, conducted under Operation DESERT SANITY V, also led to the recovery of arms, ammunition, and logistics materials, further degrading the capabilities of insurgent groups operating within the theatre.

According to a statement by the Media Information Officer, Sani Uba, troops in conjunction with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force engaged terrorists advancing from Yale towards the Sambisa Forest axis.
During the encounter, four terrorists were neutralised, while troops recovered one AK-47 rifle with ammunition and food supplies believed to be part of insurgent logistics.

“The troops returned safely to base with no casualties,” the statement said, highlighting the effectiveness of the coordinated operation.
In a separate development, sustained clearance and patrol operations along key routes, including Dambboa–Maiduguri, Dambboa–Gwoza, and the Goniri axis, disrupted terrorist movements and denied them operational freedom.

The military said the intensified patrols have continued to block infiltration corridors and limit the mobility of insurgents across the theatre.
Similarly, troops deployed at Kanama arrested two suspected terrorist collaborators during a stop-and-search operation.

The suspects were found in possession of items suspected to be linked to terrorist logistics support, including clothing and personal effects, while preliminary investigations revealed incriminating digital materials suggesting affiliation with terrorist elements.
“They are currently in custody for further investigation,” the statement added.
In another development, troops recorded the surrender of a suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP member at a checkpoint in Kukawa Local Government Area.

The individual reportedly claimed to have been abducted earlier in the year and forced into joining the terrorist group.
He is currently undergoing profiling and further investigation.
The Theatre Command reaffirmed its commitment to restoring peace, security, and economic stability in the North-East, urging members of the public to support ongoing operations with credible intelligence.
