Troops of 8 Division Garrison Strike Force under Operation FANSAN YAMMA Sector 2 have recorded major success in their ongoing offensive against terrorists and bandits in Zamfara State, neutralising six fighters and rescuing a kidnapped underage victim.
The Media Information Officer of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Captain David Adewusi, said, “The troops achieved significant breakthroughs in their ongoing offensive operation within the Sububu Forests of Maradun Local Government Area.”

He stated, “The operation was aimed at dismantling terrorist enclaves and restoring peace to Zamfara State.”
According to him, “The offensive commenced with a targeted engagement at Indulumu village, where gallant troops confronted and neutralised two terrorists.”
Adewusi disclosed, “Following the intense firefight, one AK-47 rifle was recovered, further disrupting the terrorists’ operational capabilities.”

He added, “The Strike Force pressed forward to Ruduno village, where additional resistance was encountered and four more terrorists were neutralised.”
He said, “Another AK-47 rifle, a magazine loaded with 28 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition and two motorcycles were recovered and destroyed on-site.”
The military spokesman noted, “These motorcycles were instrumental to the terrorists’ mobility and logistics operations.”

Adewusi further revealed, “As troops advanced deeper into the forest, a kidnapped underage victim, Halira Ibrahim, was successfully rescued.”
He explained, “The rescue brought an end to her ordeal and offered hope to the affected community.”
According to him, “This underscores the troops’ unwavering commitment to protecting vulnerable citizens and combating kidnapping.”

He stated, “The operation also led to the destruction of multiple terrorist camps and life-support structures in Magaji, Galakaje, Filinga and Kukatara.”
Adewusi said, “These actions have significantly disrupted the terrorists’ ability to sustain their operations and denied them safe havens.”
He assured residents, “The troops remain resolute in ensuring lasting peace and security across Zamfara State.”
The spokesman reaffirmed, “Operation FANSAN YAMMA will continue its aggressive campaign against terrorism and banditry in the
North-West.”
