The Anambra State Police Command has stepped up efforts to unravel the circumstances surrounding the suspected murder of a 23-year-old female student in Alor, as community leaders moved to strengthen collaboration with investigators to ensure justice is served.
In a move signalling growing community concern over the incident, the Command on June 26, 2026, received a delegation of Alor stakeholders led by the President General, Mr Emmanuel Ojukwu, alongside some Red Cap Chiefs, over the ongoing investigation into the reported killing of the student in her residence at Alor, Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The visit, according to the Police, was aimed at supporting ongoing investigative efforts and reinforcing collective commitment towards uncovering the circumstances surrounding the incident.
During the engagement, members of the delegation provided information considered useful to investigators and reaffirmed the community’s readiness to collaborate with the Police through lawful means to ensure that those responsible are identified and prosecuted.
Speaking during the interactive session, the Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Ikioye Orutugu, assured stakeholders that the Command remains committed to conducting a thorough investigation and ensuring that all persons found culpable face justice in accordance with the law.
He also appealed to residents and members of the public to remain calm, refrain from speculation, and volunteer credible information that could assist the investigation.
In his remarks, Mr Emmanuel Ojukwu commended the Police for what he described as their prompt response and professionalism in handling the case.

He expressed confidence in the ongoing investigation and pledged sustained support and cooperation from the Alor community towards achieving justice.
The Command reiterated its commitment to protecting lives and property and assured the family of the deceased, the Alor community, and the public that no effort would be spared in ensuring that justice is served.
Police authorities added that further developments would be communicated as investigations progress.
