The Anambra State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the disappearance of a 16-year-old girl in Ozubulu, Ekwusigo Local Government Area of the state.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, on January 27, 2026.
According to the statement, the suspects, Uzoma Nwabueze and Precious Monday, were arrested on January 26, 2026, following intelligence-led investigations.
“Operatives attached to Ozubulu Division, acting on technologically driven information, arrested two female suspects over the reported case,” Ikenga said.
He noted that the suspects confessed during interrogation.
“They admitted their involvement and disclosed that the victim is currently in Ghana,” he stated.
Ikenga added that the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, had ordered their transfer to the State CID.
“The suspects have been transferred to the SCID, Awka, for discreet and comprehensive investigation,” he said.
He assured that the Command would provide further updates as investigations progressed.
