Anambra Police Intensify Statewide Security Operations, Assure Residents of Safety

The Anambra State Police Command has intensified security operations across strategic locations in the state, reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding lives and property despite prevailing weather conditions.
The Command’s spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said in a statement on Monday that the sustained operations form part of ongoing efforts to strengthen public safety, prevent crime, and reassure residents of the security of their communities.
According to the statement, the operations carried out on July 20, 2026, include enhanced visibility patrols, intelligence-led operations, confidence-building patrols, stop-and-search duties, and coordinated joint security engagements with other security agencies.
The initiatives, it noted, are designed to deter criminal activities and ensure prompt responses to security threats across the state.
The Command stressed that it remains unwavering in the discharge of its constitutional responsibility to protect lives and property, adding that adverse weather conditions will not weaken its resolve to deny criminal elements any opportunity to operate within Anambra State.
The Commissioner of Police assured residents that the Command, working closely with other security agencies and relevant stakeholders, would continue to sustain proactive security measures aimed at maintaining law and order while enhancing the safety of all residents.
The Police also appealed to members of the public to remain vigilant, law-abiding, and security conscious by promptly reporting suspicious persons, movements, or activities to the nearest police station or through the Command’s emergency response channels.
