The Anambra State Police Command has urged indigenes of the state to participate actively in the ongoing recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force in order to strengthen security and community policing.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday.
Ikenga said joining the Force would enable Ndi Anambra to contribute meaningfully to national development.
“Joining the Nigeria Police Force offers our indigenes a platform to actively contribute to improved policing services and nation-building,” he said.
He explained that increased participation of indigenes would enhance public trust and security.
“It will strengthen community-oriented policing and foster better understanding of the local environment, culture and people,” Ikenga stated.
He described policing as a noble profession built on discipline and patriotism.
“The profession provides structured career growth, professional training and opportunities to safeguard lives and property,” he added.
Ikenga urged youths to see enlistment as a constructive means of engaging in national security and governance.
“Active involvement in national institutions is essential for inclusive development and lasting peace,” he said
