COAS immortalises Lagbaja, commissions modern logistics complex in Lagos

LAGOS – The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, on Friday immortalised his predecessor, the late Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, with the commissioning of the Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja Complex at the Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management (NACOLM), Lagos.
Shaibu said the modern facility would significantly strengthen logistics training, improve administrative efficiency and enhance personnel welfare, thereby supporting the Nigerian Army’s drive towards greater professionalism and operational effectiveness.
He noted that the complex was named after the late Army Chief in recognition of his remarkable contributions to force development, exemplary leadership and unwavering service to the nation.
The COAS described the late Lagbaja as a disciplined, courageous and visionary military leader whose legacy would continue to inspire generations of officers and soldiers.
According to him, the Nigerian Army remains committed to investing in critical infrastructure that promotes quality military education, strengthens institutional capacity and improves the welfare of personnel.
Shaibu urged officers, instructors and students of the College to uphold the values of discipline, professionalism and selfless service which the late Army Chief represented throughout his career.
He stressed that sustained investment in military institutions and personnel welfare aligns with his command philosophy of building a more professional, adaptive, combat-ready and resilient Nigerian Army capable of effectively addressing the country’s security challenges.
The newly inaugurated complex is expected to provide a more conducive environment for training logistics personnel whose expertise is critical to sustaining military operations across the country.
