The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, has reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to deepening collaboration with traditional institutions to enhance security and strengthen community policing across the state.
Ojajuni gave the assurance during a courtesy visit to the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, His Royal Majesty, Alayeluwa Oba (Dr.) Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, Okukenu IV, CFR, at the Alake’s Palace in Abeokuta, where he led members of the Ogun State Police Command’s management team.
The visit, according to a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Ogun State Command, DSP Oluseyi B. Babaseyi, anipr, provided an opportunity for discussions on prevailing security challenges, intelligence-led policing, community policing initiatives and the role of traditional institutions in promoting peace, security and socio-economic development across Ogun State.
Speaking during the visit, CP Ojajuni expressed appreciation to the monarch for his fatherly leadership, exemplary statesmanship and unwavering commitment to the peace, unity and progress of Ogun State.
He reiterated the Command’s resolve to sustain close collaboration with the traditional institution to advance intelligence-led policing, strengthen community engagement and foster mutual trust between the police and residents.
The police commissioner also acknowledged the contributions of Egbas in the Diaspora, noting that their continued engagement with the Ogun State Police Command and support for security initiatives demonstrate their commitment to safeguarding lives and property in the state.
In his response, the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, His Royal Majesty, Alayeluwa Oba (Dr.) Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, Okukenu IV, CFR, welcomed the Commissioner of Police and his management team, describing the visit as a reaffirmation of the enduring partnership between the Nigeria Police Force and the people of Egbaland.
The monarch commended CP Ojajuni for the operational achievements recorded by the Ogun State Police Command since he assumed office, particularly the successes of Operation KOSAYE, which he said have strengthened public confidence in policing and enhanced the security of lives and property across Ogun State.
