The Cross River State Government has congratulated CP Akininyene Ifebem Ezima, Director of the Nigeria Police Force Cyber-Crime Centre (NPF-NCCC), Abuja, on his promotion to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG), describing the elevation as well deserved and a recognition of his outstanding contributions to policing and the fight against cybercrime in Nigeria.
In a congratulatory message dated July 3, 2026, and signed by the Commissioner for Information, Erasmus Ekpang, the state government said the promotion reflects Ezima’s hard work, exceptional leadership, professionalism and unwavering commitment to duty. It noted that his elevation is a source of pride not only to him but also to the people of Cross River State.

The government stated that the landmark promotion represents an affirmation of the senior police officer’s dedication, discipline and visionary approach to service over the years, adding that his remarkable contributions to policing and the nation’s campaign against cybercrime have earned him the prestigious recognition.
According to the statement, the government expressed confidence that AIG Akininyene Ifebem Ezima would continue to distinguish himself in his new role, bring further honour to Cross River State and the Nigeria Police Force, and uphold the values of justice, fairness and integrity.
The Cross River State Government also extended its best wishes to the newly promoted AIG as he assumes greater responsibilities in the Nigeria Police Force.
