The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) says it has carried out fresh air strikes against terrorist and bandit hideouts in the North-West as part of ongoing military operations under Operation FANSAN YAMMA.
Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information, Headquarters Nigerian Air Force, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday.
He said the operations, conducted on June 18 and 19, involved precision strikes, intelligence gathering, surveillance and armed reconnaissance missions across the theatre.
According to him, NAF aircraft struck a confirmed terrorist stronghold within the Joint Operations Area based on credible intelligence, disrupting the activities of criminal elements and degrading their fighting capability.

Ejodame also said aircraft on an intelligence-led mission around Kidandan neutralised terrorists after positively identifying their movement in the area.
He said subsequent reconnaissance missions over Fatika and Sabuwa revealed no further terrorist activity, while surveillance operations continued in support of troops on the ground.
The statement quoted the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, as saying that effective air power yields maximum results when integrated with ground operations.
Ejodame said the Air Force remained committed to supporting joint operations aimed at eliminating terrorist and bandit networks and restoring security in the North-West.
