The build-up to OtaFEST Nigeria 2026 gathered momentum on Friday as the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, received Nigeria Police Officer and World Boxing Champion, ASP Olagbade Sulaimon (Tyson Kill), alongside the OtaFEST Nigeria Organizing Team on a courtesy visit ahead of the festival’s international boxing showcase.
The visit, held at the Command Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, highlighted growing expectations around the cultural and sporting festival, which organisers say is designed to promote African creativity, youth engagement, tourism, trade, and community development.
Leading the delegation was Mr. Michael Gomwalk Adebowale, Executive Producer, Creative Director and Overall Lead of OtaFEST Nigeria. He was accompanied by Mr. Oluwatobi Olaniyi, Director of Operations; Mr. Diamond Egwu, Director of Trade Fair and Welfare; and Mr. Olalekan Shoyoye, Head Coach to ASP Olagbade Sulaimon (Tyson Kill).

Briefing the Commissioner, the team outlined preparations for the 2026 edition of the festival and disclosed that one of its headline attractions will be an international boxing contest featuring ASP Olagbade Sulaimon (Tyson Kill) against a professional boxer from Lithuania a bout expected to draw local and international attention.
The delegation also commended the Ogun State Police Command for sustaining peace, security and public order across the state, while seeking continued collaboration to ensure a smooth and secure hosting of the festival.
Responding, CP Bode Ojajuni, described as a passionate *supporter* of sports and youth development, praised the vision behind OtaFEST Nigeria and its role in advancing culture, sports, tourism and economic empowerment.
The Commissioner reserved special commendation for ASP Olagbade Sulaimon (Tyson Kill), describing him as an outstanding Nigeria Police Officer whose success in the ring has projected the Nigeria Police Force positively on the global stage.

He cited the boxer’s record as former Nigerian National Super Welterweight Champion, former West African Boxing Union Champion, former World Boxing Union Champion, former International Boxing Organization contender in Scotland, former Universal Boxing Union contender in Ghana, current World Boxing Body Super Welterweight Champion, and Heritage Boxing International Middleweight Champion.
According to CP Ojajuni, the achievements reflect discipline, resilience and professionalism, noting that the officer has continued to bring honour to the Force through sustained excellence in international boxing.

He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to sports development, youth empowerment and community-oriented policing, assuring the organisers of adequate security support within lawful frameworks to guarantee a peaceful and successful OtaFEST Nigeria 2026.
