The Nigerian Navy has intercepted 500 litres of products suspected to be illegally sourced Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) and substances suspected to be Cannabis sativa in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State.
The operation was carried out by personnel of the Forward Operating Base, Lekki, in Folu Community, Ibeju-Lekki, as part of ongoing efforts to tackle the illegal trade and storage of petroleum products and the proliferation of illicit drugs within the area.

The Navy said the operation took place on August 24, 2026, adding that the suspects fled the scene before they could be apprehended.
The recovered products and suspected cannabis were secured and taken to the base for further investigation and appropriate action in line with established procedures.

The operation, according to the Navy, underscores its commitment to disrupting activities capable of undermining national economic interests, public safety and security within its area of operations.
