In a renewed push to tighten Nigeria’s internal security and border control framework, the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Kemi Nandap, on Tuesday hosted the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, at the Service Headquarters in Abuja for a strategic high-level meeting.
The visit, which brought together senior officers of the Nigeria Police Force, underscored a growing commitment between the Police and the Nigeria Immigration Service to strengthen inter-agency collaboration in tackling evolving security challenges across the country.

Discussions at the meeting centred on enhancing cooperation in critical areas such as national security, border management, intelligence sharing, capacity building, and coordinated responses to transnational crimes.
Both agencies stressed that closer synergy remains vital to safeguarding Nigeria’s territorial integrity and reinforcing the nation’s internal security architecture.

The Comptroller-General commended the Police leadership for the visit, reaffirming the Immigration Service’s resolve to deepen strategic partnerships with sister security agencies to boost effective law enforcement, improve migration governance, and sustain national stability.

The engagement is widely seen as part of ongoing efforts by security institutions to close operational gaps and present a unified front against emerging threats.
