The Police Service Commission has announced April 28 to 30, 2026, as the dates for the nationwide written examination for prospective Police Constables, urging applicants to steer clear of fraudsters as the recruitment process enters a critical phase.
In a statement issued in Abuja by the Commission’s spokesman, Torty Njoku Kalu, the exercise conducted in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force will be held across designated centres in all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, marking the next stage for candidates seeking enlistment into both General Duty and Specialist cadres.
According to the Commission, only applicants who successfully passed the earlier physical and credentials screening will be eligible to sit for the examination. Qualified candidates have been directed to log on to the official recruitment portal from April 24 to print their Examination Invitation Cards, which will contain details of their specific date, time, and venue.
The PSC outlined strict requirements for the examination day, including a valid National Identification Number slip with a clear photograph, a printed invitation card, writing materials, and a compulsory dress code of white shorts, white T-shirt, and white canvas.
Reaffirming its commitment to a transparent process, the Commission stressed that the recruitment exercise is entirely free of charge, warning that any form of job racketeering, financial inducement, or scam attempts will attract severe legal consequences.
