The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Federal Capital Territory Command, Dr. Olusola Odumosu, has been awarded a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Security and Strategic Studies.
This was disclosed in a statement on Monday by the FCT Command Public Relations Officer, DSC Monica Ojobi, who said the honour was conferred during the 8th Combined Convocation Ceremony of Nasarawa State University held on April 11, 2026.
According to the statement, the award was in recognition of Odumosu’s contributions to security administration, strategic leadership, and national development.
“The prestigious honour was bestowed… in recognition of Dr. Odumosu’s outstanding contributions to knowledge in the field of security administration, strategic leadership, and national development,” the statement read.

Ojobi noted that the Commandant’s academic achievement reflects his commitment to professional excellence and intellectual development in security management.
“His research and practical engagements continue to contribute meaningfully to policy development, operational effectiveness, and the strengthening of internal security frameworks in Nigeria,” she stated.
The statement added that Odumosu has demonstrated leadership in fostering collaboration among security agencies and enhancing protection of critical infrastructure in the FCT.
“His pursuit of higher academic attainment underscores the importance of continuous learning and capacity building in addressing contemporary security challenges,” Ojobi said.
The Command congratulated him on the achievement and expressed confidence that it would further enhance his contributions to national security.
