In a decisive push to curb security concerns around academic environments, the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, has moved to strengthen safety architecture at the Ibogun Campus of Olabisi Onabanjo University with the announcement of a new police post and enhanced inter-agency collaboration.
The Commissioner made the disclosure during a strategic visit to the campus, where he personally assessed the security situation and engaged key stakeholders on practical steps to improve safety within the university and its host communities.

According to a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi B. Babaseyi, anipr, the CP was accompanied on the visit by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, DCP Bolanle Muritala, and the Area Commander, Ifo, ACP Seyi Williams, psc.
During the engagement, CP Ojajuni met with the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor Ayodeji Johnson Agboola; the Provost of the College of Engineering and Environmental Sciences, Professor Bashir Olufemi Odufuwa; and His Royal Highness, Oba Timothy Sowumi, the Olu of Ibogun-Sowumi, alongside other principal officers and community leaders.
The meeting also brought together the Student Union Government (SUG) leadership and students, who jointly raised concerns over prevailing security challenges affecting both the campus and surrounding communities. Stakeholders unanimously called for coordinated and sustainable interventions.

Responding, CP Ojajuni assured that the Command has conducted a thorough assessment of the area and is committed to immediate and sustained security reinforcement, including increased patrols, proactive policing strategies, and continuous stakeholder engagement.
A key highlight of the visit was the announcement of the establishment of a police post within the university community to improve rapid response capability, enhance police visibility, and deepen community policing efforts.
He further held discussions with sister security agencies including the NSCDC, Amotekun Corps, and So-Safe Corps, stressing the need for stronger synergy in securing the axis.

The CP also visited the Ibogun Divisional Police Headquarters, where he interfaced with officers, reviewed operational readiness, and issued directives aimed at improving discipline, efficiency, and service delivery.

CP Ojajuni reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to sustained peace, community partnership, and intelligence-driven policing across Ogun State.
