The Ogun State Police Command has launched an intensive security operation along the Sagamu-Benin Expressway following a reported security incident around the J3 axis, deploying tactical units and specialised operatives to restore confidence and secure the corridor.
The incident, which occurred on Thursday, June 25, 2026, triggered an immediate response from police operatives after a distress report was received, leading to the activation of a coordinated security strategy across the affected area.
Acting on the directive of the Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, the Command deployed four units of Police Mobile Force (PMF) personnel alongside operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit and other tactical teams to intensify security presence and track down the fleeing suspects.

According to the Command, an extensive bush-combing exercise is currently underway, with operatives recording significant operational progress in dominating the area, pursuing the suspects and strengthening protection for commuters and residents along the expressway corridor.
The Police assured members of the public that there is no cause for alarm, stressing that all necessary operational measures have been activated to guarantee public safety and maintain order in the area.
The Command also urged residents and road users to remain calm and continue lawful activities while security operations continue.
