The Lagos State Police Command has announced the arrest of a suspected vandal and the recovery of twenty reflective road studs vandalised from the Third Mainland Bridge.
In a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, the Command disclosed that the suspect, Dogara John, 18, was arrested on April 6, 2026, at about 17:30hrs by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) while tampering with road safety installations on the bridge.
According to the statement, “a search carried out at the scene led to the recovery of twenty (20) reflective road studs in his possession.”
The Command emphasised that the road studs are critical safety infrastructure designed to enhance visibility and guide motorists, particularly at night and during adverse weather conditions.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Olaiwola Fatai, reiterated the Command’s zero tolerance for vandalism, stressing that such acts endanger lives and undermine public safety.
He urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities around public infrastructure to the nearest police station or through the Command’s emergency lines.
