The swift rescue of five abducted students of Gateway Polytechnic, Sapade, has drawn praise from the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), which described the operation as a bold show of professionalism and tactical efficiency by the Ogun State Police Command.
In a statement signed by its National Public Relations Officer, Comrade Adeyemi Samson Ajasa, NANS applauded the police for what it called a “prompt, coordinated, and intelligence-driven” operation that ensured the safe recovery of the victims.
The association specifically commended the Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, Bode Ojajuni, for providing leadership that enabled a rapid and successful response to the abduction, noting that the operation reflects a strong commitment to safeguarding lives and property.
According to NANS, the involvement of specialised units such as the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, SWAT, and other tactical teams demonstrated effective synergy and resilience in confronting criminal elements, sending a clear warning that such acts will not go unchallenged.
While celebrating the outcome, the student body urged the police to intensify efforts to track down and arrest the fleeing suspects, stressing that justice must be served to deter future crimes.
The association also called on students and the general public to remain vigilant and support security agencies with credible information, emphasizing that collective responsibility is key to improving safety across campuses and communities.
The Association reaffirmed its commitment to advocating for the welfare and security of Nigerian students, pledging continued support for lawful initiatives aimed at strengthening campus safety nationwide.
