The Police Officers’ Wives Association, Zone 2 Command, has empowered women and youths in Lagos and Ogun States through a skill acquisition and empowerment programme.
The initiative was organised in partnership with Chioma Emmanuel Global Ministry and focused on promoting economic self-reliance.

Participants received training in vocational skills such as soap making, insecticide production, shoe making, make-up artistry, bag making and bead making.
The programme also included lessons on small business development and financial literacy.

Some participants who completed the one-day training were given start-up capital to kick-start their businesses.
The event was held at the MD Abubakar Hall, Zone 2 Command Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos.

Speaking at the event, the POWA Coordinator, Zone 2, Mrs Adekemi Fayoade, said the initiative was aimed at empowering beneficiaries economically.

“The goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where women and youths are motivated to take charge of their lives,” she said.
She conveyed goodwill from the POWA President, Dr Mrs Elizabeth Egbetokun, and thanked Chioma Emmanuel Global Ministry for the partnership.

Fayoade said POWA would continue to support empowerment programmes with tangible outcomes.
Prophetess Chioma Emmanuel thanked POWA Zone 2 for the collaboration.

She said the ministry remained committed to initiatives that uplift lives and promote economic independence.
The POWA Coordinator said the association would continue to partner credible organisations to support community development.
