President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Senator Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari, representing Zamfara West in the Senate, on his 58th birthday, describing him as an experienced administrator, loyal party member and grassroots mobiliser.
Yari, a former two-term governor of Zamfara State, currently serves as Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections. President Tinubu chairs the council, while Vice President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, serve as vice chairmen.
In a birthday message issued on Monday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu commended Yari for what he described as his political experience, organisational capacity and contribution to the APC and the country.
Yari served as governor of Zamfara State from 2011 to 2019 and also chaired the Nigeria Governors’ Forum during his tenure.
Tinubu also acknowledged Yari’s current responsibility as Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, where he is expected to coordinate the party’s campaign structure ahead of the 2027 presidential election. The State House announced Yari’s appointment when the APC constituted its Presidential Campaign Council in August.
The President commended Yari’s commitment and resilience, as well as his continued support for the ideals of the APC.
Tinubu prayed that Almighty Allah would grant the senator many more years in good health, wisdom and strength to continue serving his constituents, the party and the country.
