Troops Intercept Terrorist Logistics Network, Recover Weapons, Arrest Six Suspects in Kaduna

Troops of Sector 7, Joint Task Force Operation ENDURING PEACE, have intercepted a suspected terrorist logistics network in Kaduna State, arresting six suspects and recovering multiple firearms during a stop-and-search operation aimed at disrupting the movement of weapons and criminal elements.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Monday by the Media Information Officer, Joint Task Force Operation ENDURING PEACE, Captain Chinonso Polycarp Oteh, who said the operation was carried out by troops deployed at Samaru Village in Zonkwa District, Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
According to the statement, the operation took place at about 9:40 a.m. on Monday, July 13, 2026, as part of the ongoing offensive operations designed to deny terrorists freedom of movement within the Operation ENDURING PEACE Joint Operations Area.
The troops intercepted an ash-coloured Mercedes-Benz with registration number EDO GUE-722-LV, conveying six suspects who reportedly confessed to travelling from Jos, Plateau State, to Niger State.
Items recovered during the operation included three AK-47 rifles, four Sub-Machine Guns, and the Mercedes-Benz used by the suspects.
The military further disclosed that one of the suspects attempted to escape during the operation but was immediately immobilised. The suspect was said to be in stable condition and is cooperating with investigators.
Captain Oteh stated that all the arrested suspects, along with the recovered weapons and vehicle, are currently in military custody for detailed interrogation and further investigation.
He reaffirmed that Operation ENDURING PEACE remains committed to sustaining offensive operations against criminal and terrorist elements, while appreciating residents for their continued cooperation.
The military also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious persons and activities to the appropriate security agencies to support ongoing efforts to enhance security across the region.
