Umahi Arrives Borno Ahead of Tinubu’s Flag-Off of Key Road Rehabilitation Projects

The Federal Government’s drive to strengthen critical transport infrastructure in the North-East gathered momentum on Friday as the Honourable Minister of Works, Senator Engr. David Umahi, CON, arrived in Borno State ahead of the official flag-off of the rehabilitation of the Bama-Banki Road and the Dikwa-Gamboru-Ngala Road, projects aimed at improving connectivity, boosting economic activities and enhancing security across the region.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued by Francis Nwaze, Senior Special Assistant to the Honourable Minister of Works, Media, who said the minister touched down in Borno on Friday, July 3, 2026, in preparation for the ceremony.
Upon his arrival at the Muhammadu Buhari International Airport, Umahi was received by the Governor of Borno State, His Excellency, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, CON.
The official flag-off of the road rehabilitation projects is scheduled for Saturday, July 4, 2026, and will be performed by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, who will be represented by the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, GCON.
According to the statement, the rehabilitation of the Bama-Banki Road and the Dikwa-Gamboru-Ngala Road forms part of the Federal Government’s commitment to improving critical road infrastructure, strengthening regional connectivity, and supporting economic growth and security in Borno State and the wider North-East region.
