“This time calls for collaboration so that known and unknown enemies of Nigeria will be defeated,” Timothy stated. “Nigeria is currently facing security challenges, and all hands must be on deck to push criminal elements to other shores.”
He described the IGP as a God-fearing, patriotic, and experienced officer who has consistently distinguished himself in every assignment.
Timothy recalled Disu’s service trajectory, from his time as ACP in the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) in Lagos, to Deputy Commissioner of Police at the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) in Abuja, Commissioner of Police in the Federal Capital Territory, and most recently Assistant Inspector-General at Alagbon.
“He was ever a super cop wherever he served,” Timothy said, expressing optimism that the new police boss would not disappoint Nigerians.
The media executive further noted that Disu assumes office at a politically sensitive period, serving as a prelude to another crucial election year.
He stressed the need for synergy between citizens, security agencies, and other critical stakeholders to decisively tackle crime and criminality in all ramifications.
Timothy also extended appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as a thoughtful choice in appointing Disu to lead the Nigeria Police Force, expressing hope that the administration’s confidence in the new IGP would yield positive outcomes for national security.
