The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 2, Lagos, AIG Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, has felicitated with Christians and residents of Lagos and Ogun states on the occasion of Easter.
He also assured residents of adequate security measures to guarantee a peaceful celebration across the zone.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Afolayan Gbenga.
Gbenga said the AIG extended warm greetings to Christian faithful, describing Easter as a period of hope and renewal.

According to him, the celebration marks the resurrection of Jesus Christ and symbolises victory over death and sin.
He noted that Easter also represents the triumph of light over darkness and offers believers a message of new beginnings.
Gbenga said the AIG urged Nigerians to embrace unity, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence.
He added that citizens were encouraged to reflect these virtues in their daily interactions for the good of society.
The police spokesman further disclosed that the AIG has directed Commissioners of Police in Lagos and Ogun to intensify security measures.
He said patrols, surveillance, and visibility policing have been strengthened across strategic locations.
According to him, security has been reinforced at worship centres, recreational facilities, and major highways.
Gbenga stated that residents have also been advised to remain law-abiding and vigilant.
He said the public should promptly report suspicious activities to the police.
He added that the Zone 2 Command is committed to ensuring a safe and hitch-free Easter celebration.
