The Ogun State Police Command has stepped up security measures across the state ahead of the Easter celebrations, deploying massive personnel and launching joint operations to ensure public safety.
The Command said the move is aimed at guaranteeing a peaceful and crime-free festive period for residents and visitors.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi B. Babaseyi.
Babaseyi said the initiative is being implemented under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni.
According to him, the Command is acting in line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu.
He said proactive measures include the deployment of joint forces, operational assets, and a large number of personnel across strategic locations.
Babaseyi explained that patrols have been intensified along major highways and critical points across the state.
He added that the Command also conducted a show of force in collaboration with other security agencies.
According to him, the operation involved patrol vehicles, tactical teams, and intelligence assets.
He said the aim was to reinforce security presence, reassure residents, and deter criminal elements.
Babaseyi further disclosed that the Commissioner of Police has ordered the deployment of personnel for traffic control and operational duties.
He noted that the Command will continue to work closely with other agencies to ensure effective coverage and rapid response.
He assured residents that security operations would continue throughout and beyond the Easter period.
Babaseyi urged members of the public to celebrate responsibly and cooperate with security personnel.
He also called on residents to report suspicious activities through the Command’s emergency lines.
