The Prayer and Support for the Nigerian Armed Forces and Other Security Agencies (PASNAFOSA) has commended the Nigeria Police Force for intercepting a truckload of military camouflage and suspected illicit substances in Lagos State, describing the operation as a significant achievement in the fight against crime and threats to national security.
According to Ambassador Mary Abayomi-Fatile, Convener of PASNAFOSA, the operation underscores the vigilance, professionalism and operational effectiveness of the Nigeria Police Force in safeguarding the country.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Abayomi-Fatile specifically praised the Lagos State Police Command under the leadership of Commissioner of Police Tijani Fatai for successfully intercepting the truck and recovering military camouflage uniforms, firearms and other prohibited items.
She noted that the seizure and subsequent public display of the recovered exhibits demonstrated the Command’s commitment to combating criminal activities and protecting national security.

PASNAFOSA also applauded the Command for the arrest of 38 foreign nationals in the Epe area of Lagos State whose mission in Nigeria, according to the police, could not be satisfactorily established.
The group said the arrests reflected the proactive approach of the Nigeria Police in identifying and neutralising potential threats before they develop into serious security breaches.
Abayomi-Fatile further commended the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu, for providing what she described as purposeful and inspiring leadership that has translated into notable operational successes across the country.
“These achievements are particularly commendable in view of the prevailing security challenges confronting the nation and the strategic importance of Lagos as Nigeria’s commercial and economic nerve centre,” she said.
The PASNAFOSA convener also paid tribute to officers and personnel of the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies for their courage, resilience and sacrifices in protecting lives and property across the country.
She reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to praying for the nation’s security personnel, seeking divine wisdom, strength and protection for them in the discharge of their duties.
Abayomi-Fatile further called on security agencies to intensify efforts toward securing the release of schoolchildren and teachers still being held by kidnappers, stressing that their continued captivity remains a source of pain for affected families and the nation.
While acknowledging the challenges facing security operatives, she urged Nigerians to support and encourage members of the armed forces and other security agencies rather than engage in blanket condemnation.
According to her, security personnel continue to make enormous sacrifices, often at great personal cost, to safeguard communities and preserve peace across the country.
She also called on citizens to provide timely and credible information to security agencies, noting that the responsibility of securing Nigeria requires active collaboration between security institutions and the public.
